Devices & Streams
Understand Flux device limits, remove an old device, add a new device, and resolve device-cap or simultaneous-stream errors.
Flux uses device registration to protect accounts, enforce membership limits, and make access predictable across iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.
Device and stream limits
Flux Basic allows one registered device and one simultaneous stream. Flux Premium allows one registered device and one simultaneous stream. Flux Ultra allows up to three registered devices and up to three simultaneous streams.
Register a new device
Flux registers the device during account activation or sign-in when the account and membership checks succeed. To move a Basic or Premium account to a new device, remove the old device from Account > Devices, install Flux on the new device, sign in to the same account, and use Restore Purchases if paid access does not appear.
You have reached the device limit
Open Manage Devices, review device names and last-seen information, remove a device you no longer use, and retry sign-in, activation, restore, or playback. Compare plans if Ultra’s three-device allowance better fits your household.
Remove a device
Open Account > Devices, select a device that is not the current device, and choose the remove or revoke action. Removing a device frees one registration slot and prevents that registration from receiving new protected playback grants. It does not cancel the subscription or delete the account.
Lost or inaccessible device
Use another signed-in device to remove the old registration. If you cannot access any signed-in device, contact support from the email associated with the Flux account.
Too many simultaneous streams
Stop playback on another device, allow a recently ended session time to close, restart Flux, and confirm an unfamiliar device is not using the account. If you do not recognize a device, remove it and update your password where applicable.
